This Web site has to be written up daily. I have little time to consider grammar and phrasing as we work in the field, everyday.

Yonok wetland and the Temples is open access. The Monks are Thai and Burmese and do not speak English.

The Island Retreat is accessed by line raft and you would need to contact Wat Viang Cum.

The Observation Platform is a bamboo structure and only supports a couple of people at a time.

Please take great care, we can take no responsibility for your actions or any accidents. A student fell off the raft a few days ago and into deep water.

600 Buffalo live in this part of Yonok. The Buffalo is a placid animal, however, for the inexperienced they can be quite intimidating when you are confronted with a large group on a narrow track. Buffalo are herded daily at approximate time of 3-5 hours after sunrise and 1-2 before sunset. It can be difficult to pass along these tracks at this time. In the wet season it becomes very slippery and often impossible.

Birding: early morning and in the late afternoon are the better times. Harriers arrive arrive 1-2 hours before dusk (often in the last 30 minutes).

Visiting: In order to get the best from your trip and an insight to Yonok Wetland, Temples, Birds, wildlife and local villagers use of these wetlands: please contact either: Mick or Dowroong.

In doing so you will be helping to save this area for the future of both people and wildlife. You will also contributing to a project that is understanding of humanity. The future of this World is in changing attitudes.
